    3. Morning list I am having a problem finding the details of my grandmothers birth. I understand from my family that she was born on the 31st December 1898 in Drakes Broughton, Worcs however I have looked on the Genuki site but I can't find anything which tells me which registration district this is in. Looking on a map I'm wondering if it came under Pershore - would I be right? My grandmother was Hilda Mary Edwards which is not an unusual name so I need to be sure of the registration district before I send for any certificates. Thank you in advance Liz in sunny Sussex

    3. Hello Liz, Drakes Broughton is/was indeed in Pershore Registration District. But it didn't exist as a separate Civil Parish until 1958, when it was created as Drakes Broughton and Wadborough out of some of the Rural Part of Pershore Civil Parish. In 1898 it was in the Civil Parish of Pershore Holy Cross, but it would appear never to have been a separate Ecclesiastical Parish. In 1898 it was a part of "Pershore, St Andrew & Holy Cross, with Pinvin St Nicholas, Wick St Bartholomew, & Bricklehampton St Michael & All Angels" so a CofE Baptism is most likely in Holy Cross or St Andrew.
