Many thanks, Denise, for the 1861 WALTERS listing. That is certainly my family. Thomas, age 6, is my great grandfather. I was surprised to find them in Sedgley/Wolverhampton area. I can't make out the name of the village at the top of the sheet ..Wood___ but their location in Swan Village caught my eye as there has been some discussion on the STS list re Swan Village. If you can spare a few minutes to look them up in the 1871 I would be most grateful. I am interested in whether the name is shown as WATERS or WALTERS. By 1881 Thomas WATERS is married to Elizabeth Jenkins, living in Aston, with three children. All were sent to Canada (as WALTERS) from the Middlemore Home following his death in 1884. My grandfather, Thomas, was the eldest.
