Hi Ruth The first thing you should do is write to Origins and explain the problem: they will probably extend your membership. I had a similar problem with accessing persons from Worcestershire and discovered that it was probably because "Worcestershire" in the list of counties of birth was misspelt, so that their search engine was not recognising it. (It has since been corrected). Secondly, you do not need to specify a county of birth when searching the 1841 Census, as counties of birth were not specifically mentioned in the Census; if you leave that box blank you will get a better return.
