    3. Hello Mike, Claines is the Parish immediately to the North of (the city of) Worcester - parts of it were inside the City Boundary. (My parents and sister married there...) St Albans was a tiny parish (only 3 acres...) between the city centre and Worcester Cathedral. It had a short stretch of its boundary on the East bank of the River Severn, which *probably* could account for the 'slip', where china clay was unloaded for the Porcelain Factories. Can't help on Staffordshire - but I've never heard of a Rugely anywhere in Worcestershire. Rubery *might* be a possibility, but that has never been a Civil Parish. "St Philips, Warwick, Birmingham" sounds a mish-mash... St Philips is [now]Birmingham's Cathedral, and Birmingham was in WarwickSHIRE. [This could be down to the LDS' peculiar habit of referring to English Counties by the names of their County Town, rather than their real names...] HTH Gus ----- Original Message ----- From: <Mike.Browne@za.nampak.com> To: <ENG-WORCESTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 30, 2005 7:11 AM Subject: [WOR] Place Names > In doing my research on my family tree, there are certain place names > that crop up quite frequently and I would appreciate any information on > them. > > > > 1.
