I would like to know a little more about my 2nd great-grandparents John MARTIN and Charity PARKHOUSE. Two of their girls married PAYTONs. Although I can find them in Birmingham from the 1851 census I am beginning to wonder if they came from Cornwall but that could just be a co-incidence. I know that 1. John MARTIN married Charity Parkhouse on 31 Mar 1828 at St Martin in Birmingham, WAR, ENG. Charity PARKHOUSE. Charity was born on 29 Aug 1802. Known children of John Martin and Charity Parkhouse both born Yardley, WOR, ENG, were as follows: 2 i. Jane MARTIN. Jane was born in 1829. She married James Payton, son of Frederick Peyton and Ann Downes, on 15 May 1859 at the Parish Church in Yardley, WOR, ENG. She died on 12 Jan 1900 at Shirley Road in Acocks Green, Yardley, WOR, ENG. James PAYTON was born on 24 Dec 1834 in Birmingham, WAR, ENG. He married second Rachel Birks, daughter of George Birks and Elizabeth Smith, on 1 Jun 1901 at Congregational Church in Walsall, STS, ENG. He died on 15 Sep 1911 82 Walsingham Street Walsall, STS, ENG, at age 76. + 3 ii. Ann MARTIN was born in 1840 in Yardley, WOR, ENG. She married Thomas Nathaniel Payton, son of Frederick Peyton and Ann Downes, on 10 Jun 1861 St Andrews Anglican Church Bordesley, WAR, ENG. She died on 8 Oct 1910 at Harford Road in Omata, TNK, NZ,. (Cardiac Failure). Her body was interred in Waireka Cemetery Omata, TNK, NZ, on 10 Oct 1910. Thomas Nathaniel PAYTON was born on 27 Jul 1840 in Highgate, Parish of Aston, WAR, ENG. He was baptized on 26 Dec 1840 at St Martins Anglican Church in Birmingham, WAR, ENG. He died on 9 Sep 1896 Para, MBH, NZ,. (Cancer of the Jaw). His body was interred in Omaka Cemetery Blenheim, MBH, NZ, on 10 Sep 1896.
