    3. Hi Is there any list or KS that has an ancestor James PITT who was buried in New Cemetery wherever that is ? From a Memorial Card there is the following information In Loving Remembrance Of James Pitt, Who Departed this Life May 27th, 1880, In The 44th Year Of His Age, And was Interred at the New Cemetery, Worcester, May 30th, "In The Midst Of Life We Are In Death." A loving husband, a good father, a faithful friend. I believe he had a brother Thomas PITT and would like to know who the parents are and where they were born. Any takers?

    3. The presumption would seem to be Astwood Road Cemetery - although by 1880 I believe it would've been open for roughly 20 years. I can certainly look in its registers on my next trip to Worcester History Centre. BTW, there was no James PITT of the right age in the 1851 WOR Index, the nearest being 1) a 15-year-old butcher's apprentice, born Kingswinford, recorded as a 'servant' with a Joseph PITT (an uncle???) in Dudley [2033/49/161] 2) a 12--year-old scholar, born Kidderminster, a boarder at Oldswinford Hospital (a boarding school) Gus ----- Original Message ----- From: Leith Friend <leithfriend@xtra.co.nz> To: <ENG-WORCESTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 17, 2005 11:00 PM Subject: [WOR] James PITT Buried New Cemetery, Worcester > > Is there any list or KS that has an ancestor James PITT who was buried in > New Cemetery wherever that is ?
