Hi Listers, I'm stuck! I have an ancestor Emanuel Fluet who was baptized April 22, 1827 at Chadwick, Worcester. He turns up in the 1841 census at Ombersley, Worcester as age 15. He married Mary Hunt on January 1, 1849 at the Independent Chapel in the District of Gloucester, in the City and County of Gloucester. He was living at Bays Hill, Cheltenham, as a servant. Mary's father was John Hunt but apparently neither he nor his daughter came from Gloucester although at the time of the marriage they lived at Cross Keys Lane, St. Mary de Crypt. Emanuel and Mary sailed for America in 1849 but her father cannot be found in following censuses for Gloucester and we don't think he too sailed for the States.. He was a laborer so I'm assuming he moved around. Does anyone have any ideas for finding John Hunt and his daughter's baptism? She was 20 on the marriage certificate so I figure she was born around 1829. Also, can anyone give any info on the Independent Chapel, the minister was Joseph Hyatt. I realize I'm discussing Gloucester but with so many smart people on this website I figured I'd give it a try. If someone can give me a site to go to for help in that area it would be much appreciated Thanks Pauline
