Duncan Jackson seems to think that anyone wanting to do serious research is a fuddy-duddy, is that how he sees himself? He sounds very young so he should realise that the young are noisy, boisterous full of life and totally incompatible with the rest of the human race. That's exactly how it should be. Unfortunately there are some barmy people about, and it seems that local authorities attract more than their fair share of them, who ignore the natural order of things and cause unnecessary friction by their irresponsible actions. In most towns there are empty buildings just crying out to be used by young people where they can let off steam, make a noise and do anything else they want without spoiling the enjoyment of others whose activities are less energetic. The proposal should be rejected but perhaps someone with knowledge of the area could suggest an alternative venue. Let's hope common sense prevails. Regards Mike Day
