Hi Denise, Primrose Hill is Netherton Dudley Worcs. Withington is probably Whittington near Stourbridge, Old Swinford is also near Stourbridge, none of these places are far apart. Family members were often recorded as Servants, even if they were simply staying with relations, I think all the households were under the impression that everyone in the house had to have a title, the children were recorded as being Scholar's even if they never went near a School. I have a similar situation where a Great Aunt only 17 is staying with her Aunt and Uncle who was a Tailor and very well off, the 17 year old was referred to as being the Servant, whether she is was or not is anyone's guess. As for the travelling, they would walk miles, 20 miles would mean nothing to them. There were hundreds of Coal Mines around Dudley. I have a Samuel Dimmock born 1864 in Dudley, he was a Mining Engineer, went on to be a Pit Manager, his daughter was the wife of my Grandfather's brother. Mr Dimmock was held in great respect, but all the men were scared of getting on the wrong side of him. Hope this helps, best wishes from Linda.
