    3. Diana: I've just re-read you message and noticed also the name MILWARD. My Eleanor STEVENTON, nee GREEN (born 1792 died 1832 aged 40) had a daughter Mary Ann STEVENTON. And Mary Ann married Samuel MILLWARD! Now, granted it's a few years after the time period you're looking at, but the occurrence of both GREEN and MILWARD in my family and yours seems quite a coincidence. And people did often marry cousins. Here's hoping you've an Abigail GREEN somewhere. 3. Hi Paul and Diane, from Halas Halas Halesowen, written by F. & K.M. Somers; There was a Richard and Amice Green mentioned back in the 1300's. William Green was a Hye Warden in 1533, responsible for having the Church Limewashed. In 1835 John Green was a local Land-owner, and lived in Hagley Street Halesowen. In 1904 a Captain G. H. Green was a Commanding Officer in the Halesowen Volunteer Corp. 1928 a William Green was a Church Warden. 1839 a Thomas Green was a Church Warden 1793 a Richard Green was a Church Warden 1801 a Josiah Green was a Church Warden 1760 a Josiah Green was a Church Warden 1767 a Edward Green was a Church Warden 1533 a William Grene was a Church Warden 1528 a John Grene was a Church Warden 1750 a William Green was a Church Warden A Richard Millward was in trouble with the Courts in 1438, " took and carried away a bow, valued at 2/-,' for which he was brought to trial. In 1766 a William Millward 'received an amount of Beef and Mutton at the Workhouse.' 1756 William Millward was a Church Warden The above shows that your family names have a long history throughout Halesowen's Past. Hope it is of some interest and help to you. Best Wishes from Linda.
