I want to visit the cemetery in May when we come over for a visit, and my gr gr grandparents were buried there in 1871 and 1884. Googling confused me because it came up with Droitwich Spa. Is this the same place? The oldies died in Spetchley and Henwood, Dodderhill. Is the cemetery still there? Thank you for any help Ann

    3. Hello Ann, First off, 'Droitwich Spa' is the same place as Droitwich. The 'Spa' got added to the name in an attempt to upgrade the image of what was a very grimy little industrial town that eked-out a living boiling Natural Brine into blocks of salt. Yes, you can still take a Brine Bath - "Saltier than the Dead Sea" - when you visit, but you may need to Book... St Peters - and its graveyard - are still there (although I don't know what the state of the gravestones might be). It's around ½ a mile East and South of the town centre, but isn't accessible by any *simple* route by road. "Foreigners"*** really need a Street Map or a Native Guide! *** That's EVERYBODY who - and both whose parents, too - wasn't conceived, born and raised in Droitwich :-) Spetchley is some 6 miles away - a little East of Worcester on the road to Stratford on Avon. Dodderhill is a sprawly and centre-less Parish immediately to the North and East of Droitwich - it's CofE Church is now within Droitwich' boundary. I don't know Henwood, but there's a Hen Brook which flows East-West a shade to the North of the Radio Transmitter Towers.
