Dear Listers Please has anyone access to the 1851 census index for Worcester? I would like to find Charles William MORRIS (13) and Michael Joseph MORRIS (14), - ages are approximate - who were described as boatman & waterman respectively when tried at Worcester in 1859. They were transported to Australia for house breaking. Many thanks Ruth Hayward
Ruth There is only one Michael MORRIS in the 1851 Census Index aged 20 a Labourer in a Bakery in Old Swinford . The only Charles Morris' aged 12 years are Scholars- if the were working as Canal/Boatmen in 1851 , unless the records give their permanent place of residence , they could be anywhere on the Canal Routes. They would have been arrested where they perpetrated the crime not necessarily where they or their families lived - Helen New Zealand -----Original Message----- From: RufHay@aol.com [mailto:RufHay@aol.com] Sent: Friday, 26 August 2005 9:44 a.m. To: ENG-WORCESTER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WOR] 1851 census index look up please Dear Listers Please has anyone access to the 1851 census index for Worcester?
