My maternal great-grandparents left England to settle in New Zealand in 1874 and although I know something about their life in England I was wondering if SKS could help me with a look up in the earlier English census. I realize that the lack of an index in many of these census makes it hard to locate people but nothing ventured - nothing lost! My great-grandfather was Thomas Nathaniel or Nathaniel Thomas PAYTON b 1840 Highgate, Parish of Ashton, WAR, ENG s/o Frederick PEYTON/PAYTON and Ann DOWN(E)S while my great-grand mother was Ann MARTIN b Yardley, WOR, ENG d/o John MARTIN and Charity PARKHOUSE. They were married 10 June 1861 Bordesley, WAR, ENG which was after the 1861 census so I would like to know about the details on the 1871 census probably in Yardley, WOR, ENG with their children Mary Jane b 1862, Frederick John b 1864, and Eliza b 1868 - my grandmother I would also like to see the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census pages or full details for each of Thomas Nathaniel PAYTON and Ann MARTIN when they were single (and living with their parents?)
