Hi Gwynne, From a male Gwynne to a female Gwynne! You said; > > My husband's ALLENDER ancestors wandered about a lot in the 19th century. They went from Worcs - Glocestershire - Monmouthshire - Shropshire - Aston (Warks) - Sheffield and back to Mon. All of them were forgemen or connected in some way with the iron or steel industry. > Although I don't have any connection with the ALLENDER name, I know a lady in Canada who is researching that name. I believe her line includes a John or James ALLENDER, born 1794, Christened at Aston Juxta Warw. One branch of the family of iron workers, lived all the 19th century at Eardington forge, just South of Bridgnorth in Shropshire. My involvement has been in providing all the local census transcriptions of the family and some Monumental Inscriptions. Would you like me to contact the Canadian lady on your behalf? Gwynne.
