Hello Eveline, Hope someone will find the marriage details for you, but a little trick I sometimes use is to look for subsequent births. Only works from Sep 1911 with mother's maiden name though... Thanks John, VERY ingenious... Wish I'd thought of doing that :-) Gus ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Kane" <[email protected]> To: "Eveline Clarke" <[email protected]>; "Eng-Worcester" <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2007 11:23 AM Subject: Re: [WOR] GOWER Hello Eveline, Hope someone will find the marriage details for you, but a little trick I sometimes use is to look for subsequent births. Vivien: Yes, I believe so. But you'll only need to do it for couples married before 1837 because DoVE also gives spouses' names in GRO marriages. I'm still looking for my great grandparents' marriage somewhere in Worcester (if there was one!). I've scoured the BMD index for a Henry WILLIAMS and Mary WILDING (or PLAYDON), but there are a so many Henry Williamses and so many ways to spell Wilding or Playdon that I've just about given up. They seemed to move around a lot so it could be anywhere from Claines to Blockhouse. If anyone knows of this marriage sometime after Henry's first wife died in 1855 then please let me know. My grandfather Walter was the youngest of at least 9 children born to Henry and Mary, and I do hope he was legitimate! Vivien
