Dear John, Having seen Polly's posting of the Dudley Birth Registration, I'd say that it was extremely likely to be yours - a far better chance, anyway, than my Kidderminster HARRIS! I've also tried another dip into the 1871 Census - this time merely looking for "AYRIS" born 'anywhere' 1861-71 - and got 13 hits. NONE of them were recorded as being born in Worcestershire (or Staffordshire, for the greater part of Dudley Registration District was in that County - nor Shropshire nor Warwickshire as they might be considered 'close enough' to tell a Census Enumerator)... There *was* a "Hannah C." - born c.1861, Northamptonshire, daughter of a John & Ann - but again I'm sure this can't be yours. Equally, there was no likely hit when searching for "Hannah, born Dudley, 1863 +/-2". However, I'm using the Ancestry Transcription/Index which is by no means flawless (the variations they come up with for 'TYSOE' beggar belief) but the net results at least seem to indicate that she seems unlikely to've been in England at that stage.
