Don't be too disconcerted by the "change of name". The enumerator made three mistakes with all three christian names for my family in 1901 Newport - he had Catherine instead of Elizabeth, Ann instead of Amy and Alfred instead of Arthur. He must have made quick notes at the time and then been unable to read them. I am fortunate as the family remained at the same address from 1851 until 1933 - otherwise I don't think I would have realised the depth of the problem. To reiterate - the problem was the original entry not the later transcription. Each error of this sort makes me both more sceptical but also more flexible in my thinking - double edged really.
