Does anyone know where the places called: 'the Pinch' and also 'merry[ie] vale where situated in worcester. I think the Pinch was in St Johns, but not sure. Roy

Hello Roy, A date and a source just might help here... But Merryvale is now the northern end of Deansway - it ran South from the junction of Broad and Bridge Streets to (roughly) the northern end of St Andrews former graveyard. I don't know when it was (officially) renamed, but it was certainly still referred to by the Old Name in the mid-1950s. Can't help on The Pinch, though - that's one I've never heard of!
