    3. Just a quick comment... As the 1841 does *not* give any relationships within the household, you can't assume that Mary was his wife, nor that the children are "his".... She could be his sister, with 2 illegitimate children; Or his widowed sister-in-law, with her two legitimate children; Or even entirely unrelated, but coincidentally bearing the same surname; Or a 'temporary liaison' and he just "SAID" that their surname was EVANS... There are many other possibilities......... You don't say where any of them were recorded in any of the Censuses, which makes it very hard to trace Mary and the children in the 1851 :-( Gus ----- Original Message ----- From: "BENJAMIN HORTON" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 09, 2007 9:36 AM Subject: [WOR] evans family can someone help me please. i am trying to trace evans family. in 1841 census the following states, thomas 30 porter mary 30 wife celina 7 daughter walter 1 son. then 10 years later on the 1851 census there is no mary, walter. or celina. and thomas is at his sister in laws. elizabeth hawks un married. i know thomas evans married a mary hawks. but in the 1861 censusthomas is now head of family in elizabeths house she is still un married but has three sons and a daughter of two.thomas is down as a widower at this point.i know in 1881 walter was lodging in birmingham but what happened in between to him. any help or ideas would be very helpful. thank you. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
