    3. Hello thanks for help so far. Could someone help me out with a 1841 and 1851 CENSUS search of Jane Simmons in Worcestershire (b. 1837 and 1834 respectively). I want to know if she is the same Jane in the 1881 census who was married to George Bishop (1826 Hanbury). 3. Hello again Stephen, While George is clearly shown as being married to a Jane in both the 1881 and 1871 Censuses - I can't find either of them in the 1861 - how do you know her "maiden name" was SIMMONS? Do you have a birth Certificate of any of their children? Or even if she was born in WOR? [Her birthplace was given as WOR, Berrow in 1881, and "WOR", Bromsberrow - which is actually in GLS - in 1871.] In 1851 George was a childless widower in Cradley, HEF - there is always the possibility that Jane could have been a widow. The oldest child named in 1871 was a George (presumably their(?) first son, born Mathon, WOR, c. 1854 - almost-certainly registered 1853 Dec ¼, Ledbury, 6a 352) which would imply that they were likely to've married "around" that date. Unfortunately there's no George BISHOP on FreeBMD marrying anywhere in the vicinity at around that sort of time. The closest (out of the 108 Geo BISHOPs marrying 1851-61) was one in 1858 Dec ¼ at Worcester, 6c 414, who MIGHT have married a *MARY* SIMMONS (or an Emily WAGSTAFF) :-( I think you may need to buy George Jrs birth certificate...... But you are requesting details of Jane in 1851 and 1841.... This could well be her in 1851..... 3. Hi Stephen, Further to my last, *IF* the Jane SYMMONDS entries in the 1841 and 1851 actually DO relate to "your" Jane BISHOP, you should find a reasonable amount of information about her parents on Ancestral File. For her sister Rebekah/Rebecca MAISEY was an early member of the LDS. (Daniel MAISEY died in November 1856 "On Trail, Sweet Water, Wyoming, Unmarked Grave".) They will, of course, have to be confirmed - and it would seem that Jane wasn't baptised Church of England. [There are no "SIMMONSes" [of varying spellings on the Batch Extraction from the Bromsberrow Registers - although Rebecca MAY have been baptised there in 1822. [As a full member of the LDS she's likely to've been removed from the extracted list.] But her parents were John and Sarah, which tallies with the likely interpretation of the 1841 entry for Jane..... Where did you get that idea Gus? Polly But her parents were John and Sarah, which tallies with the likely interpretation of the 1841 entry for Jane.....
