    3. Hi, Thanks both for your help. I know the forum is for Worcs but Albert Edward Davis lived in Birmingham. The shop was 23, Proctor Street. I am looking for his death certificate at the moment. Hopefully this will lead to his birth certificate. They are on the 1901 census living in Frankfort Street. But on ancestry their name has been transcribed as Albert Doris! That took some finding! I am very suspect of their dates of birth recorded on the census. I have been unable to trace Albert and Alice's wedding certificate. Presumably in the late 1890's Her maiden name is Alice Barton. I cannot find either on the 1891 or 1881 census returns. There are plenty of Albert's on both census' but which one he is I don't know. I have no father's or mother's names either! I have searched all the local parish records for the Newtown and all central areas of Birmingham. I have studied the BMD and free BMD registers for hours but to no avail. Should I slit my throat? There must be something I've missed surely? Regards Allen
