    1. Re: [WOR] Pound of Rochford

    3. Hi Joan, Are we related in some way? Edwin Pound's father, George, was the brother of my 2xgt grandfather, John Pound! However, although Edwin is in my tree, it is a branch I have not really researched much myself. Two other researchers that I have been in contact with over the years have done most of the work, and there is a tree going back to a Thomas Pound who married in Ludlow in 1665. The first of these contacts was back in 1999, Ann, in Australia, who had spent many many hours trawling through the parish register films at her local LDS Family History Centre. The second is John, in Canada, who is himself descended from Edwin Pound and who contacted me in 2005 through GenesReunited. John has Edwin Pound born on 21 Jun 1872 at Rochford, and christened there on 23 July 1875. I cannot site any sources. I will send you Ann & John's contact details off list, though they may be out of date. To be given an extensive tree can be a mixed blessing. It takes some of the fun out of researching it yourself. Also, I would be very interested to hear what other listers feel about the ethics of passing on other peoples research wholesale. Best wishes, Joe Joan Cowdell wrote: >Hello List > >Could anyone offer advice on a problem?
