I had a similar situation in Lancashire. I *knew* that the head of the family business died Dec 1834 but he was still listed in the trade directory in 1836. When I asked on the Lancashire forum, I was told that compilation could take 12-18 months and, unless someone remembered to tell them, the listing wouldn't amended before going to print. I just made a note of the error in the notes section of both the deceased head of the business and the son who had taken over by the time the directory was printed. By the way, I don't think that there is a hard and fast period of time that each directory/issue covers. I was led to believe that it was used until the next issue was printed. Hope this helps Heather Q Allen Cook wrote: > Can anyone tell me when the closing date for copy is for entry in the > following years Kelly's. i.e.. would the Kelly's 1937 have lasted from > January 1937 until December 1937 and if so would copy have to be provided > before what date (say September, October or November 1936)?
