Hi Sally, Your PAINed expression caught my eye. (sorry) You only needed about 3 weeks of residence to be "of this parish". The BMSGH have a county Marriage Index which might help you find potential parents http://www.bmsgh.org/search/Wo_marr_index.html Plan B would be to look at contiguous parishes for the parents. Feckenham Parish registers I believe were transcribed, I think by the parish themselves. If you get any further back I have a distant Mary PAIN, born around 1760, who married a William HANDS in 1784 in Feckenham. From memory Feckenham is a bit of a stronghold for PAINs, so tread carefully Cheers -- Mike Yegwart Branch Chairman BromsgroveBMSGH The Family History Site for North Worcestershire http://www.bromsgrovebmsgh.co.uk/ [email protected] wrote: > Dear members > > A forebearer of mine Robert WOODWARD was married by licence on 2nd March > 1800 to Esther PAIN in presence of Thomas PAINE and someone with an > indecipherable name.
