Hello Joy, The following extract from the Victoria County History, coupled with John Kane's reply, may throw some light on your query: The road from Pershore to Evesham runs through the parish from west to east, and from it at a short distance from the village of Cropthorne a road branches off southwards to Smoky Farm.
