My 4GGF, George SALE, married Mary PETHWARD 27 Nov 1793 in Cleeve Prior. I can find no other mention whatever of the name PETHWARD, but a spot of surfing reveals that PETHARD is, if not common, then certainly not unusual in WOR. Is there, by chance, anyone with this name in their tree, please? Could there possibly be someone actually researching the name?
