Hello the list, I have been searching many years for an ELIZABETH RICHARDSON. Born in Lower Mitton on 28 January 1808, one of 5 siblings to WILLIAM and MARY RICHARDSON (no marriage on Worcester marriage list pre 1837). I have found no trace of her after that entry. The IGI shows an ELIZABETH RICHARDSON marrying a RICHARD NUTHER, in Great Comberton in 1826. I do not think this is the Elizabeth from Worcester as there was/were Richardson family/s in that villiage. I have never found this couple on a census. Perhaps ELIZABETH died as a young girl/lady, before 1837. I wonder if parish records show this? The 1841 census shows many of the family married and living in the Blockhouse area of Worcester, but NO sign of the parents, or indeed ELIZABETH. Any help would be greatly appreciated. John, I don't know where you found the data about the family of William & Mary Richardson as nothing comes up on IGI. Indeed, a look at Hugh Wallis shows the only IGI batches for Lower Mitton end at 1700. That suggests the data may be held locally. My only suggestion is to go back to the source where you found the 1808 birth on Elizabeth Richardson at Lower Mitton and check if they have deaths and marriages. Peter
Hi Peter and John When I read this, I thought, I am sure I have had things pop up on IGI on Family Search which weren't on Hugh Wallis's IGI, but immediately put it to the back of my mind, mainly because I couldn't think of an instance. I know what I have below is not Worcestershire but it shows that the two records do not tie up completely and perhaps a search of both sites should be carried out. I was sent this christening today with regard to one of my husband's relations. It is the extracted christening of a Catharine Gowar in Seal, Kent 12th August 1812 and I went on to IGI to check to see if I could find any siblings and found that the records for baptisms in Seal, Kent on IGI are only from 1561 to 1599. However, I then went on to family search to see what if anything they had and if so to see what clicking on the batch number found. This baptism was there and it was an extracted record with a batch number.
