Dear listers, I am trying to determine how I can obtain a copy of the C of E parish record for the birth/baptism of Thomas Perkes, born 4 Feb 1824, Dudley, Worcester d. Sep 1898, Liverpool, buried in Toxteth Park Cemetery, 14 Sep, 1898. Finding his christening record is the key to confirming all sorts of information available through the beta family search site which contains a tree for the Perkes/Perks line back to Old Swinford, 1689. This Thomas Perkes was apparently christened 28 March 1824 Wombourne, Staff. A number of helpful people on the Staffordshire list directed to me to the parish records available at the Wolverhampton site. I could not find my Thomas there. http://www.wolverhamptonhistory.org.uk/resources/indexes I have looked at maps and it seems that Dudley and Wombourne are not far from each other. So, I have two questions: 1. Is it plausible that someone born in Dudley would have been christened in Wombourne? 2. Since I can't devote myself to this full time or get out in a car to an LDS centre here in Quebec Canada, could any of you refer me to researchers in Worcester who I would be happy to pay to find the actual parish birth/christening record for my Thomas Perkes? I have checked the list of researchers offered by the National Archives but I don't see anyone with an interest in the West Midlands. Many thanks, and best wishes for the holiday season. Sincerely, Carolyn (Canada)
