Roy, I presume you found the record on the IGI at www.familysearch.org You need to look closely at all the records for Barbara Palin in Worcester. There are seven in all - five birth entries and two marriages. You also need to look closely at the sources. Most are user submissions rather than extracted, and despite the different dates, my view is that they all relate to the same person. If you look firstly at the two marriages, the one in 1705 at Bayton is the official extracted record. I think the person who did the user submission got the year and location wrong. Then examine the five births. I believe they are all the same person, just different guesses. The 1680 data would be an estimate, by subtracting 25 from her marriage date. In amongst those five entries, one gives parents as William Palin and Elizabeth. I'd suggest that may be close to the mark. If you then go back to IGI and search using just the Palin surname and Worcester you get 52 Palin entries. Print them out and then sort them into dates and families. You may already have some of them, so concentrate on those before about 1720. If you do a parent search using William Palin and Elizabeth, you find Barbara had a brother Walter c1684 - 1718. Walter looks to have had a number of children. The family could go back to John Palen c1610 who had a son Gedian in 1634, but there are no other family records around that time. Peter in Sydney
