    3. Stephen, Are you just looking for fellow researchers of this family or is there something specific? A quick look at his christening on IGI shows parents as John and Mary. By doing a parent search or simply clicking on the batch number, he looks to be the youngest of nine children born at Holt between 1768 - 1794, (although it could be two or more couples) Have a look at Bishop families in Holt in 1841 census or in 1851 for Bishop surname born in Holt. You might also check submitted trees at places like Rootsweb or Ancestry, and also surname message boards. Peter

    3. Just checked a couple of censuses and he appears on the 1861 & '71 as a lodger with his sister and her husband John and Mary Perkins. Unmarried, he's an agricultural labourer and the residence is Burf Cottages, Astley, a few miles upstream on the Severn from Holt. There's a James Bishop death in 1877. Littlebury's Directory 1905 records another James Bishop in Sinton (Sinton Green),Grimley as a tailor.
