    3. Hi Stephen On the fiches for Hanbury Parish ( 1716 -1837 )  there is only one George BISHOP mentioned. George BISHOP baptised  July 23 1820  son of Thomas and Ann BISHOP  ,  labourer.     3. Stephen, From the Hugh Wallis site, here's the periods covered by the online IGI batches for Hanbury. Hanbury C021222 1577-1715 E021221 P021221 1716-1875 M021221 1577-1754 So you'll see if he was truly christened there, the record should be online. However, it's a different story for marriages, where it doesn't look like you'll find his parents. If you look at the later christening batch, there are only three Bishop records. All seem to be to different parents. That suggest the surname isn't common to the area or they simply didn't have children christened. I presume you obtained his birth year and location from census records. I'd suggest you compare data from more than one census. I'd also see if he was in Hanbury in 1841 and who he resided with.
