Hello Alan, Probably your best bet here is to buy the marriage certificate as it should supply sufficient information to answer at least some of your questions and give clues for seeking Alfred in the 1901 & 1911 Censuses. As far as HEWITT children with mother's maiden name SULLIVAN there were only 10 registered 1915-2005 - in 1918 [West Bromwich], 1920 [Bromsgrove], 1928, 1931-35 incl; 1937; & 1941. Which I find somewhat surprising, as there were 6 HEWITT Grooms marrying SULLIVAN Brides in the same period - in 1917, 1927, 1928, 1939, 1945; & 1969... The West Brom one *MAY* be yours - but if it was me I'd buy this - John D HEWITT, 1920 Sep Q, Bromsgrove 6c 415 - as *it* should also give further useful clues. The later children look more likely to relate to the later marriages.
