Hi Listers, I don't think this is off subject but forgive me if it is so. At our last society meeting one of our members, knowing my research is completely on British lines, asked me if one could buy a title. I have never heard of such a thing but promised to try and find out. Knowing that we have such a smart bunch on this site I figured it was my best chance of obtaining a viable answer. Is it possible to actually buy the title of earl, baron, etc? Personally I didn't think so but rather than assume felt I should get the facts. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
