Derek, It seems his age should be around 71. If correct ages are given in death records, the only two are in March Qtr 1898. Being so close to the end of the quarter it's possible it carried over into the June Qtr, but none of the ages for that quarter match. Unfortunately, while you've tracked him through three counties, you don't give his last known abode eg 1891 census or where his wife was living in 1901 (if she survived him) or where she died if she didn't. You also don't say which wrong certificates you have. Free BDM has about 40 possibilities. Surely crossing out the young, the old and the unlikely locations will narrow it down to a very short list. I can't see how you can even get to "several" wrong ones. Peter
