Peter Thank you nfor taking the time to reply. Because my query is such a long shot I did not bother to provide all the details I have for fear of boring people. William and a wife Sarah (that is another mystery in itself !) are to be found in 1891 census in Chadwell, Essex with a grandson. Previously he had been in Canterbury (1871) and Dartford (1881). His daughter can be found in Sheerness Kent from her marriage in 1874 to her death in 1942. Neither Willliam or Sarah have been found on 1901 census. The grandson is back with his father in Sheerness Kent. I have not been able to locate a death certificate for Sarah. You will note that my original message said that in the Prayer Boob was a note "... which might read " Died 16.3.98" The operable word is might as it is not 100% clear. Hence I have several Essex/Kent potential death certificates in the 1890s.
