Derek, Sorry I didn't pick up on the word "might". But it is precisely because it is such a long shot that you need to convey all the definite facts that you have discovered. We certainly shouldn't have to go looking for them all again. You also need to work on getting facts on names, dates and locations into your postings. His daughter and a grandson tell us nothing. I went looking for a possible death of Sarah in Essex but I don't have her birthdate to distinguish between the possibilities. And it would be nice to know if by 1891 they were living in Chadwell or just visiting a married grandson. The only likely death of William Parker in Essex in 1898 is registered at Maldon which looks 20 miles from Chadwell. His age is given as 73. I'd also try to get family opinions on deciphering the note in the Prayer Book. Is it the day, month or year that isn't clear? If it's clearly 1898, it shouldn't be that hard. Print out all the 1898 deaths from FreeBMD and cross off those where the age is way out and those where you already have the certificate. There can't be many left. Peter
