Peter Apolgize for the delay in reply to your message but I have been away for a few days. My only reason for posting my original query on Worcester list was to possibly eliminate the possible Droitwich death in 1898. There is no other known Worcester connections in the family. I did not expect any searches in Essex for his previous history. I have made several visits to Essex Record Office searching for information but as yet no success. 1891 census appears to be his only sighting in that county but I have considerable data on his Wiltshire and Kent connections. The Prayer Book entry is tantalising but as I am sure you know from your own research a single piece of inforamation needs verification. Is the date correct ?(even if I could read it with 100% certainty!)? Did the original writer mis-remember the information ? (the book passed to me from my mother and she almost certainly received it from William PARKER's daughter.) Unfortunately the only part of the date that I am 99% certain of is the day but that doesn't help much, the month and year and far less certain.
