    3. Hi Peter, Many thanks for your response. However, I haave searched for my Maria Douglas on the 1841 census and can't find her anywhere. The only thing I know about her is that her father was William Douglas and I can't find him anywhere either. Anyway I do appreciate your thoughts, thank you. It is not too cold here with now and we are having gloriously, crisp, sunny days with fabulous clear blue skies, just as it was for the Olympics here. I am a new member researching ancestors BARBER, HICKMAN, POWEL and DOUGLAS in the Hanbury, Shrawley, Alfrick, Leigh, Bishampton, Park Hill and Droitwich areas and I am wondering if anyone on the list is connected to any of these families. I am staring at a brick wall with 2 wives who married into the BARBER line as follows. Mary POWEL, possibly from Bishampton, who married Thomas BARBER in Hanbury in 1816. I have not been able to find out anymore further about her or her family. Maria DOUGLAS Born C1820. She married George BARBER (Born 1825, Hanbury) at St. Peter's Church Droitwich on November 17th 1850. I have a copy of the marriage certificate and her father is named as William Douglas but no profession listed. Maria's age was not completed on the certificate. I have not been able to find out anything further about her. Maria and George had two sons, Alfred 1856, and Walter Douglas 1863. If anyone can help with the above I should be most grateful. Thank you. I think the answer to ages and birthplaces should lie in census records. Certainly for Maria Douglas. In 1841 she should still be living with parents. I always advise checking every available census. It's amazing the differences that creep in. Sometimes you even find relatives in the same household. Mary Powell will be a bit harder as she would be born around 1795 and may be deceased by 1851. You'll have to do the lookups as I can only access records when at the library. And it's a bit of work going through them all.
