Elaine Maria and George appear in the 1851 Census but the image is not clear and thus it is difficult to read where she comes from but it looks like Redlands. In the 1861 Census they are still in Hanbury and have a son Alfred who is 4 (born 1856/1857). Her birthplace is listed as Rednall and she was born c 1820. In the 1871 census they are still in Hanbury and have two children Alfred and WD aged 8 (which is probably your William Douglas). She is again listed as being born in Rednall. I cannot find an Alfred listed as being born in Worcestershire in FreeBMD around 1856/1857 but there is a William born in Droitwich in Q4 1856. There is a possibility that he was William Alfred but you would need to order the Birth Certificate to check that out as he is simply William in the register. In Family Search you will find a Maria Douglas baptised in 1820 and the place is listed as Coston Hackett, Severn Stoke, Worcestershire. Her parents are William and Jane. I cannot find a place called Coston Hackett near Severn Stoke but if you do a Google search on Coston Hackett you will find that it is known as Coston or Cofton Hackett and Rednall is part of Cofton Hackett. The geography is reasonable as well as Hanbury and Cofton Hackett are about 10 miles apart. Hope that is of some help. I am staring at a brick wall with 2 wives who married into the BARBER line as follows. Mary POWEL, possibly from Bishampton, who married Thomas BARBER in Hanbury in 1816. I have not been able to find out anymore further about her or her family. Maria DOUGLAS Born C1820. She married George BARBER (Born 1825, Hanbury) at St. Peter's Church Droitwich on November 17th 1850. I have a copy of the marriage certificate and her father is named as William Douglas but no profession listed. Maria's age was not completed on the certificate. I have not been able to find out anything further about her. Maria and George had two sons, Alfred 1856, and Walter Douglas 1863. If anyone can help with the above I should be most grateful. Roy, Where in Family Search did you find the 1820 christening of Maria Douglas? Was it on IGI, Pedigree Resources file or perhaps the new Beta search? I can't see it. Is there perhaps a batch reference? Peter
