This is a long shot but here goes... William PARKER was born in Wiltshire in 1827. I have a consistent record of him in Wiltshire, Kent and Essex up to and including 1891 census. I also have a Prayer Book given to him in 1864 in which is written a note which might read " Died 16.3.98". I have been unable to locate the right death certificate for him ( I have several wrong ones!). There is a GRO record for William PARKER in MQ 1898 Droitwich of the right age. I was just hoping that somebody may lay claim to this individual so that he can be "eliminated from my enquiries" as they say in the police dramas. Thank you for reading this. James, You should be searching the Mormon Family Search site, but at a quick look I couldn't find anything. However there were a few earlier entries for West Hill that could be his father. It's rather unusual to have West as a given name. As they look to live in London, Ancestry now has London BDM records from London Archives, so that would be a good place to start. I'd also look on Ancestry for any submitted family trees. Another possibility is to simply Google his name in quotation marks, but I'd imagine you will also get a lot of responses for locations called West Hill. It might be advisable to add Doctor to your search. Peter in Sydney

Peter, I appreciate the apology. It's easy to accept a simple error. However, the bottom line is your query remains unanswered. We now have Mary Ann Croft born 1797 marrying 1819 in Dover and perhaps dying in 1862. What else do you know? Who were her parents? Who did she marry? Did she have children? Have you looked for her in 1841, 1851 and 1861 census? What about a death certificate? Have you found her death on FreeBMD? There's a whole host of information in those questions that you need to provide. You must know at least some of it. You don't just pick a person at random. Peter
Kerry, If you don't get a reply, it's because you haven't included any data. At least give us a name, approximate age and census year. Have you looked around locally for a library or LDS centre that might have free access to UK census records? Peter
I have replied to Gus Tysoe and Peter R. Booth off line with great and sincere apologies for giving a incorrect marriage date for Mary Ann. Peter Stevens, Brisbane.
Hi all, I'm wondering if someone with an Ancestry UK Heritage Plus account would be kind enough to do a lookup for me. If so, please email me privately for details. Cheers, Kerry.
Hi Kerry, *IF* either of the Wills were proved at Worcester, I can look them up and send you a summary... Can anyone please tell me what "CE" would have signified in the following record from a parish Poor Law document: Under the heading "Workmen travelling to Wolverley" "Benjamin Pearce CE, 17th January 1780 Labourer b. Fryars (sic) Ditton, Salop. From Belbroughton" Thanks Diana Pierce
Hello Listers, New to list and looking for any information on Mary Ann CROFT b.1797, especially her parents. Not sure exactly where she was born but she married William BOURNER 20 June 1852 in Worcestershire and d. Dover 16 October 1862. Any help / suggestions greatly appreciated. Peter Stevens , Brisbane.
Hello Peter, I'll accept that 'a' Mary Ann BOURNER's death was registered in Dover Registration District - which covered a much wider area than Dover itself - in Dec Quarter 1862, Ref 2a 453, but that's the only piece that matches anything else. While 2 Mary Ann[e] CROFTs married in 1852, neither were in Worcestershire, and neither bore the same reference number as any William BOURNER. A single William BOURNER married that year - in Sussex, many miles from Worcestershire - but his wife was either Mary BENNETT or Mary MILLER The IGI produced no hits either - searching on both names separately. Which raises at least two questions... 1) is the date of 20 June 1852 correctly shown? and 2) where did your information came from? [This would be of great assistance to anyone wanting to try to help you.] In general, if a precise marriage date is known,.the implication is that it came from either the IGI or a marriage certificate - and both should also give the exact location where the ceremony was performed. Is her estimated birth date taken from her death certificate? Have you looked for her in the various censuses of 1841, 1851 and 1861? The latter 2 should give her place of birth - although I'll grant that the information given there may not be true... Hi Dot, I notice you posted this to 3 separate lists - but without a solitary date, place - or even County.... *PLEASE* can you add - hopefully - even if only 2 of these, and then we'll have a faint chance of being able to help you. But I regret that as it stands, nobody knows where to so much as start :-( Gus .... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorothy Keck" <dotk@imt.net> To: <eng-black-country@rootsweb.com> Cc: "ENG-WOR" <ENG-WORCESTER@rootsweb.com>; "STAFFORD" <STAFFORD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 24, 2011 4:29 PM Subject: [WOR] ROLL CALL - Tromans, Homer, Davis > HI, > > I'm looking for children and/or grandchildren of the following couples: > > Harry and Joy HOMER - Son Kenneth m Jacqueline Basterfield > They have a son-in-law Keith (don't > have last neme) > Daughter Mary HIOMER m (No name) > Frederick TROMANS and Grace Elizabeth DOWNING > > Emmeline TROMANS and Clement W.
