Hello, I am seeking help with my RICHARD GODWIN, who according to the 1851 sencus here in Newport Gwent, was aged 40 years, so born circa 1810, and coming from Great Shelsley, Worcestershire. He was recorded as being a Sheriffs Bailiff. I would be very grateful to anyone who can look his birth up and inform me as to the names of his parents. I have been stuck on this for a long time and unfortunately I am unable to get to Worcester to look this up for myself. Thank you and regards Les Lacey.

Hello everyone, I'm wondering if anyone can help re' the following. Almost all of my ancestors lived at Ebrington in the Cotswolds, the exception being Richard Jarvis who was baptised there in 1765 and buried there in 1850 but who is shown as having died at Shipston on Stour. Gloucestershire censuses 1851 to 1891 show no family which could have been his. I'm seeking information from the 1841 census for Worcestershire or church records giving details of Richard in the Shipston or adjacent areas. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated. Regards to all,
Hello: Can anyone recommend a researcher familiar with the Dudley parish records and area who is not too expensive please? Or anyone at the Dudley archives? Thank you Glenys Wall Canada
Dear Mike, thank you that is worth knowing. Best wishes Joan in Devon
Hi Joan, If you are looking for a Worcstershire marriage between 1700 & 1837, then check out the BMSGH Worcstershire Marriage Index. Searchable by bride or groom. This covers virtually the whole county, by most demominations. There are two copies. One on public view in the Worcester Family History Centre, on the shelving to the right in the main room. The other, for BMSGH members, in our Birmingham library at the BMI on Margaret Street. There is a postal service, for the years 1660 - 1837. Details on the BMSGH site http://bmsgh.org/search/Wo_marr_index.html Good luck Mike Yegwart Branch chairman Bromsgrove BMSGH http://bmsgh.org

The Hughes Collection website has gone live: http://www.thehughescollection.co.uk/index.html All 2,000 odd photos are online. There is a search engine that takes a broad description of the content, try typing "bicycle" or "football". Double click on an image and not only do you get a larger image, but you can either supply or request information. A few hundred of the iamges have a clients name on them. Try typing "GILES", or try your own Bromsgrovian name. Good Hunting Mike Yegwart Bromsgrove Branch Chairman BMSGH
