Hi Listers SKSs found me the information on this family on the 1851 Census. It has now given me more problems. Is There another kind soul out there who could please look up the 1861 Census. On the 1851 Census the information is... Solomon DAVIS, h, m, 44, currier, born Kingswinford, STS , residing (working) at Upper High St, Stourbridge. I think that Solomon should have died in 1854. Then there is Anne DAVIS, wife, 28 on the 1851 Census born Cradley, HER. I think she may be a few years old than this (aren't we all/) She may have remarried between 1851 and 1861 and if she did it may be to a gentleman whose surname was EDWARDS (perhaps) On the 1851 Census the children were... Mary, 2, born Stourbridge Charles, 2 days, born Stourbridge. Many many thanks in advance Wendy in sunny Queensland
Good morning on this miserable morning here on the Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire. If someone could have a look in the 1891 for WORCESTER I would be much obliged. I am looking for an ANN RICHARDSON who never married, She was 69 on the 1881, and living with a widowed sister MARY MORGAN aged 71 in ST NICHOLAS parish WORCESTER. I think! MARY had gone by the 1891. Many thanks John

The list never sleeps, I wonder if SKS could look for this family on the 1871 census for Worcester! Not sure if it is searchable. They are likely to be in St Martin or St Nicholas! EDWARD MORGAN AGED 60+ MARY MORGAN AGED SAME. Doubtful that any children are still at home but ELIZA could be at 20! many thanks John

Hi Colin, I'm assuming the original children were all boys and their descendants too. If not check out the Worcestershire Marriage Index. It's searchable by bride as well as groom. The National Burial Index 2 may also tie up the odd loose end. Add to that various wars, emigration and being locked up and you have a problem. I think birth records, unless added to the baptism, by a forward thinking vicar, will be few and far between. The only independent one I know of is a doctor's record of births for Redditch, about 1795 - 1826. [Redditch Library] You could try tackling things backwards by looking for a will or administration and hoping for a list of beneficiaries. Also, check if a canal was nearby. Some people used the canal as a highway and then got married in a church nearby.. Another thought - check out drovers routes to markets. A lot can happen over 80 years. There was a general migration into Birmingham so bear that in mind too; as well as to Redditch for the needle industries. This is likely to be a very slow process. So I would make sure you surname interests, with other details, are well publicised on the various surname interest lists, and see if anyone makes the connection from another direction. (You could even join BMSGH, if you haven't already!) -- Mike Yegwart Bromsgrove Branch Chairman BMSGH bmsgh.org

Hello All I thought I would let you all know that I have now added graves for Martin Hussingtree, Salwarpe and Eldersfield with more to come for Eldersfield ... a lot more! I hope Dave doesn't mind me posting this but I thought it may help a few people track down their rellies and the list does seem quiet at the moment. I will try and get more graves done during the rest of the week. All the best Sally www.parishmouse.co.uk

Hello everyone, I'm wondering if anyone can help with my problem below. I found the baptisms of the 9 children of my gggggrandfather with all of these being in the same county in which their father married in 1752. The baptism dates range from 1761 to 1776 which gives a gap of 9 years between the marriage and baptism of the 1st child. My problem arises from the fact that of the 9 children found, census records for the county in which they were all baptised show details of the descendents of only 2 of the children. It seems that the only way in which I can advance my search is by finding the birth dates for the other children in adjacent counties where the family name appears but as yet no connections can be made. Although I know there are several sources of baptism’s does anyone know where I can access birth records. Any help greatly appreciated. Regards to all, Colin Jarvis.
