Is there anyone on this List who is researching or has connections with either the Rudd or Solloway families who lived in the village of Rock near Bewdley in the mid 1800's? I have recently acquired a copy of a photograph who I believe may be that of Dora Rudd nee Solloway which was taken around the 1890's. Regards, Jill
Hello thanks for help so far. Could someone help me out with a 1841 and 1851 CENSUS search of Jane Simmons in Worcestershire (b. 1837 and 1834 respectively). I want to know if she is the same Jane in the 1881 census who was married to George Bishop (1826 Hanbury). Hi Doreen, I've been chasing TI/YSO[E]s on Ancestry's 'full' BMDs - and not-infrequently get the Error Message of "Not Found" for a particular Quarter. I don't know *WHY* this happens, but I've found that picking a surname not-too-far away from the desired TI/YSO[E] before or after - and then (when the image comes up) pressing "Previous" or "Next" will get me what I want. Hi Doreen When a quarter is missing in the GRO index images at Ancestry it is normally because the "last" name on the page, as indexed is actually not the last alphabetical surname on the page, but a handwritten addition that belongs further up the page. So look at the results for all four quarters of 1960 and you actually get four results, but none at all for the March quarter (the one you quote is actaully for the June quarter). But the Sep one starts at the surname JESSON, so go back to the search page and enter that surname. Then you will get an image which says it covers "JEREMY, Patricia M - JEWELL, Amanda T" If you click on that link you will find that Amanda JEWELL is a late entry, the last surname on the page is actually JHA, and there are six JEYNES births on it. Hope that helps both you and others who find that it appears that names are missing! Peter, I notice in the IGI that there are 10 entries for a Sarah KIMBERLEY in 1802 with dates ranging from 8 Sep to 31 Oct! In the past I've been able to get a photocopy of an entry from St Philips Birmingham by mailing <[email protected]> with the details of the entry; they should be able to let you know the cost before you commit yourself. The Worcestershire record office can now also supply copies from parish registers (and wills and censuses) ordered over the internet. If you go to www.worcestershire.gov.uk/records, and scroll down the page, you can then click on a link called 'Using our services'; scroll to the very end of the page that is then displayed, then click on 'online payment services' and it's all detailed there. If you detail the record(s) you want, you can then check the original register to see which entry is right. Trevor. D&P Veasey wrote: >Hi > >I'm seeking more information on Sarah KIMBERLEY. Hi Listers Sorting out my NOTTs, I find a Harriet, c 1838, d/o William and Frances. Her parents had both died before she was twelve. In 1861, a Harriet NOTT was a lady's maid at Cotheridge Court (Worcester?) in the household of Wm BERKELEY 76 Landed Proprietor plus his wife, curate son and wife and grandson. In 1871, obviously the same Harriet is a lady's maid in Kensington, in the household of Charles C BERKELEY 56 unm barrister. My problem is how to determine if these two references apply to my Harriet, as her name is not uncommon. Is anyone researching this family, please? Kind regards Joy

Hi I'm seeking more information on Sarah KIMBERLEY. She is listed in the 1851 census, aged 49?, living in St John Street, Bromsgrove. She was born in Bromsgrove. Unfortuunately her age has been overwritten and is very unclear. She also appears in the 1841 census aged 35, (presumably rounded down). The IGI shows only two possible Sarah's, but they appear to have been christened in the same church on the same day, 31 Oct 1802. This seems a remarkable coincidence. Each Sarah is ascribed a different pair of parents. Can anyone suggest how I might determine which is my Sarah? Both entries in the IGI are from local records, not submissions by members. TIA Peter
