    1. [WOR] Death, Burial & Certificate (Informant) dates.
    2. MichaelWalker
    3. Hi List I am probably missing something obvious, but even before the necessity to have a death certified by a doctor, I understood that a death certificate needed to be produced before burial could take place. I have 2 examples in Badsey in 1841 where the following occurred :- death 16 Mar 1843, burial (as per parish records) 21 Mar, certificate 30 Mar death 3 May 1841, burial 7 May, certificate 13 May. Please could someone more knowledgeable put me right. Thanks Mike Walker Researching KNIGHT, SHARP Badsey WALKER, JELFS, COLE, SMART, HILL, PROCTOR Evesham

    3. Just a thought, Have you tried the Enclosure Awards - maps and description - of every parish. Fields with hedges and walls were new so such a camp may have been described. Try the Record Office at Spetchley, not the Family History Centre. 3. Hi to All, I don't know whether anyone can help me or not. My 2 xgt.grandfather John Lane was the landlord of the Lord Nelson Pub in Stourport from around 1810 to the 1830's but lived at 'Wheatland Cottage' Severn Side, Stourport. I'm trying to discover whether this cottage is still standing. One of the daughters Mary Vale Lane lived there until her death in 1903. There is also one other daughter, an Ann Lane (very possibly on some records she is Ann Vale Lane) whom I have not been able to trace. Baptised 1813 at Lower Mitton and still living at home (Wheatland Cottage) 1841. I have managed to trace the remaining siblings. Would love to know if she married or remained single etc. Any help would be so much appreciated. Thankyou Chris Jensen in OZ

Hello Joy, The following extract from the Victoria County History, coupled with John Kane's reply, may throw some light on your query: The road from Pershore to Evesham runs through the parish from west to east, and from it at a short distance from the village of Cropthorne a road branches off southwards to Smoky Farm. They had 3 sons that I know of: Thomas Underhill born Oct 1845-1846, William Underhill b.1848, and Joseph born around 1850-1855. Thomas emigrated to Canada with his father John about 1855 and eventually settled in Oakland County, Michigan USA. Ann, William, and Joseph stayed in England, changed their surname to Butcher (presumably after John's death), and setlled in Wigan/Hindley areas of Lancashire County. 3. I found the following when searching through the Western Flying Post and Sherborne and Yeovil Mercury for 1797 and thought it might be useful to anyone researching Eades or Treasure families. Most genealogists would discount such a marriage as unbelievable! Jan 23 1797 Married the 11th instant at Feckenham in Worcestershire Mr John Eades aged 58 to Mrs Treasure aged 98. A great number of people were present at this singular wedding. Kind regards Maddy Duke
