Hello Listers, I have just come across a reference to two villages in this county called East Towel and West Towel. They were apparently located not far from Marlborough and I was wondering if there was anyone on the list who had any knowledge of these villages. Mu curiosity is aroused naturally as MY surname is TOWELLS but as far as I can find out my tribe appear to have originated in the Ilminster area of Somerset some 60 miles to the south southwest of Marlborough. Many Thanks Wal Towells Newcastle Australia -- ---------------------------------------- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. It has removed 16236 spam emails to date. However the source of the reference would help to narrow down the possibilities. Best wishes Paul
