Surnames: Clifford Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EUC.2ACI/1656.3 Message Board Post: My g.g.g.grandfather was Robert CLIFFORD, married to Charlotte PERRY. Don't have heaps of information, but here is what I do have ... Robert CLIFFORD arrived in Langhorne Creek in South Australia in the early 1850's. He had a General Store which was always known as the "White House" on the east side of the bridge. He was also one of the first Sunday School Teachers at the Methodist Church which opened in 1858. When Robert & Charlotte moved north, probably in 1870's, his eldest son John and Family managed the store. Worked as a domestic servant at THE TIERS, Adelaide. Son Charles lived at Jamestown with wife and family. As Charlotte is buried at Jamestown, it is assumed that she went to live with son Charles and family following death of husband Robert. Charlotte Perry 1823-1899 married Robert Clifford, Certificate no. 682. John and Sarah Perry were witnesses. Charlotte died of Measles and Pyrexia Cert. no. 246. Charlotte's parents were John PERRY and Mary SALES. Any additional information about this line would be most gratefully received. regards, Ann.
