He was a member of Royal Marines, Portsmouth Division. The flag in lovely but I have been unable to really get much information about Samuel who according to this letter is 89 at the time of writing the letter but doesn't date the letter. My father was also Edwin W. Adlam, born 2 Feb 1910 in Lewes, England. My grandfather was Edwin Adlam but I have little information about him.
