Hello List Has anyone any information on John Lawes who was living in Martin in 1841, age 75? My William Lawes born circa 1801 was the son of Alice Hort who was unmarried. She is living with William and his family in 1841 and 1851 - shown as widow ! She is enumerated as HART - I have no knowledge of her, only what I have been told, which is that she was HORT, daughter of William Hort and Mary who was nee Fry, and Mary Fry's mother was also Mary. These events are supposed to have occurred in Martin. So I am wondering if John was possibly the father of William? Has anyone a baptism for William either as Lawes or (which I would think is more likely) as Hort or Hart? Thanks Bev
