I continue to research my husband's BATCHELOR ancestors in the Figheldean area, and am wondering if anyone on the list can offer any advice on whether there are any transcripts of the MIs in that graveyard, or whether it would be worth approaching the vicar of the parish to ask if he could tell me who is buried in certain plots. I've already trawled the filmed PRs at my local LDS Centre, so know which names and dates I'm interested in, but am having trouble reconstructing the families, as so many have been given the same names! Any help/advice would be appreciated. Hello Janet, There were three Batchelor people buried at Figheldean between 1605 and 1837. They were Lucy in 1825, William in 1826 and Arabella in 1834. A James Bachelor was buried there in 1836. I hope that helps you. Hello Rod Thanks for your interest. I actually have already found the four burials you mention, as I trawled the Figheldean PRs on film - but what I'm trying to ascertain is who else might be buried in the same family plot, in particular with the James Batchelor who was buried in 1836. I am fairly sure he was the son of William and Esther (nee Burden) but am looking for absolute proof before adding this branch to the family records! Thanks again for looking them up.
