Hello, This is my first query to the list. I am trying to find where to look for military records for my G uncle, John Noble HENDERSON, and further records of his funeral. He was a colour sergeant with the second Bedfordshire Regiment. He died at the Military Hospital, S. Tidworth on the 9th of April 1907. I have a newspaper clipping announcing his death at Tidworth Barracks, Wiltshire, as well as his death record. I also have a copy of two photos with an inscriptions "Military Funeral; Bedforshire Regt; tidworth 11/4/07" and "W. R. Jones photo Lodgershall" I am presuming that this is the funeral of John HENDERSON as it was only 2 days after his death, and the family has a copy of the photo. It looks like a major production. Does anyone know why a colour sergeant might warrant such a funeral? And where I might look for further information? Did the Regiment have a small newspaper? Or would the local towns have a newspaper that would carry a story of the funeral? I am not sure which newspaper carried the announcement of his death. Is tidworth still in Wiltshire? or would I be better looking on the Hampshire list? Sally Delta BC
